El 19 de diciembre, el día en el cual Alexander von Humboldt llegó por primera vez a la Isla de Cuba, se celebrará la inauguración oficial de la Casa Museo Humboldt en La Habana. Así La Habana tendrá su Museo Humboldt, que será al mismo tiempo un lugar para celebrar eventos culturales y científicos entre Cuba y Alemania.
También se inaugurará una exposición permanente sobre la obra y la vida del „segundo descubridor de Cuba“, junto a una conferencia de los curadores de esta selección de obras.
