Jatropha integerrima Jacq. – Herbarium of the Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem
The objective of this part of the BGBM’s WWW information system is the scientific documentation of the history and current content of the herbarium of the Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem (B).
A great number of the samples are finds of Alexander von Humboldt´s expeditions and also available as scans with a high resolution.
This is a specimen called „Jatropha integerrima Jacq.„, collection: Cuba: Leg.: A. J. A. Bonpland & F. W. H. A. von Humboldt 1343“.
Auf den Internetseiten des Botanischen Garten der Freien Universität in Berlin-Dahlem ist in den Sammlungen des Herbariums eine Suche nach digitalisierten Pflanzenexemplaren nach verschiedenen Kriterien (Name, Gattung, Familie, Land/ Herkunft) möglich.
Viele Proben sind Fundstücke von Alexander von Humboldts Expeditionen, und auch diese sind als hochauflösende Scans verfügbar.
Hier ein Exemplar mit dem Namen „Jatropha integerrima Jacq.“ aus der Sammlung „Cuba: Leg.: A. J. A. Bonpland & F. W. H. A. von Humboldt 1343“.

I am working on an annotated translation of Andre Michaux’s american journals (1785-1796). After his return to France and before he left on the Baudin expedition, he met Alexander von Humboldt probably in 1797-98. I have a xerox of a letter to Michaux from Humboldt (undated) from American Philosophical Society but the hand writing is almost illegible, I can pick up only a few words. I was wondering if I could scan it and send it to someone who has experience deciphering his hand writing?
